3 Simple Ways to Be Happy

Happiness takes work. Just like any other thing you want to have or be good at. You might have an idea for something fun but it might not work out as planned the first time. Many of us give up without ever trying to find a new way of getting what we want – happiness.

Have you ever went through the process of learning how to ride a bike without training wheels to hold you upright?  I remember my sisters pushing me down the street on my bicycle as I held on and peddled for dear life. I can look back and laugh at it now. Riding without assistance was something new for me. I fell many times but I got back up, tried again and had fun.

We must have the same determination and strength when it comes to being happy.  Happiness is not a destination but a journey we must learn to enjoy.

Here’s 3 simple steps to help you press on, be happy and not give up:

1.    Focus on the Outcome

As you go through life focus on what you want to achieve, the goal or end result. When you do this you are propelled to achieve. You will realize every trial or setback is just a part of the process to get you where you want or need to be. Focusing on the goal helps you remain optimistic and not stuck on the past misfires but optimistic and confident while you stay the course.

2.    Look for the Positive

Life will always have its ups and downs. Instead of dwelling on what didn’t work, ask yourself what did. You can learn something new and exciting from every situation which can help you improve in the future. Look for positive clues.  Your direction in life depends on where you focus your attention so focus on being happy each day, no matter what!

 3.    Don’t Give Up

Keep on moving even when you have a trial or a setback.  It’s during the hard times we learn a great deal about ourselves and what we want to accomplish. Take one step towards your goal each day, no matter how small. The small steps will lead you in the right direction.
